The Power of Podcasts

Today, we dive into using podcasts to build your credibility as a thought leader in your industry!  Podcasts, just like YouTube videos, are evergreen – meaning they never disappear. They are timeless and bingable!

My guest today on the Empowered Creativity Show is Frannie Foltz!

Frannie helps maxed-out Christian solopreneurs get booked on podcasts so you can build your audience and become the go-to-industry-expert in your field (without having to spend any of your own time or energy getting booked!)

Frannie is a super connector!

She loves helping others craft their awesomeness into a powerful message and promoting them – so you don’t have to brag about yourself!

Show Notes

  • There are over a million podcasts out there
  • Podcasts are a fabulous way to get your message in front of other people’s audiences
  • This is a long game method to attract your ideal clients into your world
  • Many people take action in some way after listening to a podcast. They follow you on social, they check out your website, they may download your freebie or start watching and listening to you directly on your podcast or YouTube.
  • After following you for a while and being part of your ecosystem, building your relationship, they may become clients
  • Matthew 5:14-16
  • Before you send that first email pitch to be considered as a podcast guest, you need to have a few things lined up first.
  • For smaller podcasts you don’t need as much as pitching a bigger well known name.
  • Have your website ready to view with a few blog posts to show that you know what you are talking about.
  • Some podcast hosts look more at your social engagement over your number of followers.
  • First, know who you are pitching to, what their audience wants, and how you can provide value to them.
  • Before you hit send, pray over the pitch. You have a message to share that God has given you. Ask Him to bless your ask.
  • Know what you are going to provide their audience in your interview.
  • Be sure to listen to a few podcasts before you pitch to make sure you align with their message and their personality.
  • Stand firm in your values and don’t water down your brand just to be a guest on a podcast. In the long run, that may not go well for you.
  • You need to do your research and homework. Take the time.
  • Frannie’s don’t evers:
    • Don’t brag about how awesome you are! Lead the value that you will provide their audience.
    • Don’t just do the interview and run. Promote them to your social channels too so you serve the host as well!
    • Don’t ever just “cold call.” Take the time to listen to a few episodes, read a couple of blog posts and get to know them first. Reference something you have heard or read in your pitch to help create the connection.
